I’m Beastly. Some people call me Alexander Cheves.
I am a writer, editor, copywriter, and illustrator in New York City. My writing has appeared in Out, Vice, Them, Plus, The Body, Hornet Stories, and many other publications. In 2016, I started the sex column “Sexy Beast” in The Advocate, the longest-running LGBTQ+ magazine in the United States.
In August 2020, I signed a two-book deal with Unbound Edition Press. My first, a collection of essays, is scheduled for release in the fall of 2021.
I’m 5’9″, brown and brown, 50% deaf, and my pronouns are he/him/his. I’m sexually fluid and very kinky. My community is queer. I love the company of men.
You probably want an explanation for my nickname — “Beastly” — which I assure you has nothing to do with bestiality. Someday I’ll tell you the story.
If you have questions about my content or would like me to remove an image, please send me a message via the “Ask Beastly” tab. I will typically respond within 24 hours on weekdays. I am available for professional writing opportunities — please email me via my website.
